The rhythmic pulse of the region is about to resonate far beyond Naga City, the Heart of Bicol. On May 1, 2026, Kilyáb will officially release the live performance of their soul-stirring anthem “Ngayon ang Panahon” on music platforms. More than just a song, this release is a clarion call, blending modern pop with indigenous sounds bringing the cultural tapestry of Naga City, that of good governance and people’s participation, and the broader Bicol region on a national and global scale.

A Global Partnership for Local Voices
The release is powered by Symphonic Distribution, a global powerhouse in the independent music scene. Known for providing artists with the digital infrastructure to reach international markets, Symphonic’s involvement is a major milestone for Kilyáb and Bicol Pop. By partnering with a distributor that prioritizes creative independence and authentic storytelling, Kilyáb ensures that the distinct voice of Naga City and Bicol is heard without compromise in every corner of the digital world.
There is a poetic significance in this partnership, as Symphonic Distribution has a storied history of elevating regional icons into global phenomena. Most notably, Symphonic was an early, pivotal partner for Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny. Long before he became a multi-Grammy-winning superstar, Symphonic helped manage the digital foundation that allowed his authentic, Spanish-language trap and reggaeton to explode out of Puerto Rico. Kilyáb now steps into a similar lineage, proving that hyper-local music, when backed by the right vision, can command the nation and the world’s attention.

Artistry, Advocacy, and Heritage
Kilyáb currently holds a unique spotlight as the only performing group actively weaving Naga City’s legacy of good governance and shared values into their songwriting. With Karl Ramirez at the helm of songwriting and production, the group intentionally fuses modern pop with traditional sounds. This commitment to identity extends to their visual presence. Kilyáb often partners with modern enterprises that value traditional weaving cultures, such as Rinconada’s Modern Clara by Society Enterprises, to showcase heritage wear on contemporary stages.
This live performance version, recorded at a recent Feast Conference, strips away the studio sheen to reveal the grit and urgency at the song’s core and recorded amidst an audience that found connection with the song. The recording is made possible by Shepherd’s Voice Radio and Television Foundation, Inc.

Sparking Naga Nationwide and Across the Globe
The May 1 release is a breakthrough for Naga City. Kilyáb carries the city’s pride as their music cuts across regional borders to reach national and global listeners. The group has consistently pushed the boundaries of the Bicol Pop movement, advocating for original music that speaks truth to power while celebrating a deep love for their community. Their live performances, known for their high energy and emotional depth, are now captured in this live track.
As “Ngayon ang Panahon” hits streaming platforms, it carries the weight of a region’s aspirations. By bridging the gap between grassroots activism and the sophisticated distribution networks that fueled the rise of global icons, Kilyáb is positioning Naga City and Bicol as a formidable force in the national and international music landscape. This May, the world won’t just be listening to a new track, they will be witnessing a spark, becoming a flame, of Naga City and Bicol lighting up the global stage.

The band members are singer-songwriter Karl Ramirez, Don Marasigan, Verna Abalayan-Velasco, Ella Abrera, Wachok Borja, and Ron Albis. They are active members of the Bicol Pop music movement and Musika Publiko. Kilyáb is independently managed. Symphonic Distribution is a partner of Musika Publiko.
