Uragon Night 6: Masarain? | Bicolano artists pushing the boundaries in music

Now in its sixth year, URAGON NIGHT has become the go-to gathering for the spirited and creative Bicolano community in Metro Manila and beyond. What started as a small reunion of regional artists and music lovers has slowly grown into an unassuming cultural movement—bridging provinces, generations, and genres through music and the unstoppable uragon spirit.

This year’s theme, “MASARAIN?” is a playful challenge to push boundaries. Masarain—a Bicolano term used as a playful question or an invitation to go somewhere special—sets the tone for a night packed with diverse musical showcases.

Uragon Night 6 proudly features loud gazers Lara, Linger Escape, and Pastilan Dong!, hip-hop femme fatale XYVRL, dub luminary Goodleaf, pop-punk mainstays Do Not Delay, and acoustic storyteller Jan Roberts. Gracing the event as a guest performer is celebrated singer-songwriter Johnoy Danao, who grew up in Masbate before making history in the Manila music scene.

Guests of previous years’ Uragon Night have included DWTA, Cheats, This Band, Lady I, and The Jerks, among others.

“The stage will be lit by Bicolano artists, but the event is open to anyone who wants to enjoy a night of good music; Madya na!” Ahmad Tanji, one of Uragon Night’s core organizers, reiterated.

So, heed the invitation to Saguijo Café this 7th of June 2025, as each act brings a unique flavor to a shared heritage—making Uragon Night 6 a homecoming and a musical fiesta all in one.

PASTILAN DONG!

Volume is 5? Let’s make it 10.

Indie rock band PASTILAN DONG!

Pastilan Dong! has been a fixture in the Manila indie scene without us knowing that Vin (drummer) and Rio (bassist) have proud Catanduanes roots. With 3 albums under their name, this noise rock outfit is a screaming invitation to stomp your feet and lose your heads.

This indie rock band is composed of Kaloy (guitar, vocals), Pow (guitars), Rio (bass) and Vin (drums). They have released 3 albums under their belt, ‘Pastilan Dong’ (2014), ‘Every Step is Backward’ (2015) both released on CD and digital platforms, while the latest one, “Gadilaab” (2019) has been released on cassette tape and digital platforms as well. DO NOT DELAY

Hailing from Naga City, Do Not Delay is a modern pop-punk band that marries their raw stage intensity with their hardworking ethic. The band can be found everywhere in the metro with a live invitation to mosh in their behalf.

Pop-punk mainstays DO NOT DELAY

There has been an enormous number of pop-punk releases for the past 3 years, that the said scene can get tiringly saturated. Bands devour driving whiny anthems that dabble on romantic angst in this niche market. Do Not Delay is one of Bicolano’s pride in this specialty. They are pretty young in the industry, but it seems they already played decades under their belt, thanks to the go-getter attitude of band leader AK Jimenez.

Under Tower of Doom, the band churned a Tagalog ditty that recalls Neckdeep and Kamikazee in its unapologetic energy. The second verse will definitely have the crowd chant each phrase before thumping their chests with the hopeful declarations of the chorus. This is Do Not Delay at their Manila domination phase, and with this song at the helm of that mission, it might just work.
